LegalDay depends on advertising income in order to provide quality editorial free to our visitors. When you visit LegalDay, your IP address* is recorded. *An IP address is a number, though usually disguised as a name (such as www.legalday.co.uk), which your internet service provider (ISP) gives you as a gateway to the internet. It is usually assigned randomly whenever you make a connection. However, institutions running their own websites will often have an IP address that is theirs alone, and which becomes associated with their site. It is in these cases that we can identify the institution, when someone accessing the internet through their IP address visits the LegalDay website.
